Many books talk about the importance of strategizing. The typical argument is that without a solid strategy, it is almost impossible to execute flawlessly. This is true. However, it is not completely true.

Managing with ideological differences requires more than alertness of whether an action is in alignment or not. It requires an in-depth understanding of what the ideology is and how it is applied in behaviors, decisions, and actions.

Change leadership is an art. There is no exact formula on how to stay innovative and lead on-going changes in an organization. However, when a leader leads with the heart, you can expect to see a result that is beyond expectation.

We often confuse “transformational leadership” with “change management.” They are two different things. Someone can be a good change manager, but may not be a good transformational leader. However, the greater a leader, most likely, the more transformational they are.

Conflicts should not be feared; it should be managed. It is the presence of disagreements or differences. Thus, as long as human beings are different from one another, we will always have conflicts. However, having conflicts does not mean we should be violent and loud. We can have differences peacefully through mature conflict resolutions.

To be a successful executive, managing your career well is imperative. While many executives rely on their employers to manage theirs, taking charge of your own future should be done strategically.

Your past experiences with the old company shall serve as a strong foundation for the future position. Moreover, you still have your former boss and colleagues’ support whenever you need them in the future. Be graceful and stay positive.

Every leader should be aware of the privilege that being a leader brings to others and the team. By growing yourself authentically, you are providing them with an opportunity to move forward and learn together. An authentic leader is a learner, facilitator, mediator, and solution provider, after all.

Managing an offshore team in Mexico is both a rewarding and a challenging position. As long as you do your research in advance to understand the leadership and communication styles better, you should be fine.

The combination of personality traits that would make up the “servant leader” cannot be found easily among available candidates or, even, the world’s population. It requires a heightened level of awareness to make it work. Some organizations even train candidates for such qualities.
